2006 AM General HMMWV Humvee PROJECT
Please READ carefully. Most questions are answered in the description.
This is a non-running, non-driving project Humvee.
I bought 2 of these through the GovPlanet auction 3 years ago, and just recently finished the first. Circumstances have changed, and I will not be able to complete this one.
I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT THE PARTS!!!
My loss, your gain.
If you are good at mechanics, and interested in a project, this will be a fun vehicle with good potential for making an exciting weekend toy or turning a pretty good profit.
WHAT YOU GET:
1- 2006 AM General M1097R1 Humvee with a Montana title (no “off road only” flag, should be fairly easy to get titled and registered in most states, or you can register it under an LLC in Montana)
– Upgraded GEP 6.5L Natural Aspirated Diesel engine (upgrade from standard GM 6.5)
– Turbo 400 HD 3 speed transmission 2- All the new parts I already bought
– NEW DB2 Diesel Injector Pump from Diesel Care and Performance (still in box) $875
– NEW 6.5 Diesel Injectors from Pensacola Diesel (New in box) $295
– New 3 Row Aluminum Radiator (New in box) $375
– New Radiator hoses silicone
– New CamoTek Glow Plug Controller with remote keyed security (New in Box) $1,100
– 2 New Blue Ox Custom 2 man soft top. Tan sailcloth with American Flag headliner. 2 matching front soft door skins. (New in box) $980
– New Midwest Military Equipment ¼” aluminum hard doors with tinted glass, 2 front doors (new in box) $1700
– Complete set of New replacement lights, including LED headlights.
– New 24V under dash Air Conditioner (New in box) $550
– New old stock rear troop seats.
– New 24V alternator (Still in box) $320
– New mechanical fan clutch and fan to replace oem hydraulic system.
3- Optional transmission conversion included
– Newer military Humvees came with a 4L80e 4 speed transmission. The 4 speed transmission allows the vehicle to comfortably (relatively comfortably) cruise at 60-65 mph. One of the most difficult parts of a transmission swap is sourcing all the parts. I have already done that and will include them with the sale.
– Used 4L80e transmission out of a 1097A2 HMMWV (working when pulled)
– Complete set of internal parts to rebuild transmission, if desired.
– Manuals and video tutorial on usb for 4L80e
– US Shift Quick Shift 4 transmission controller (New in box) $1000 by itself
– New in box 4 speed gear shifter. $700
– New front and rear drive shafts.
– Other misc small parts
– The only thing that I know is missing for the transmission swap is a cross member. The original cross member can be modified with some angle iron and welding, and that was my original plan, but they can also be found online.
I don’t know of any specific parts that are missing, so it’s probably at least 95% there. I would estimate that there are over $10,000 worth of new parts going with this vehicle, and that’s not including the value of the vehicle itself. I know that the injector pump, injectors, and fuel pump will need to be changed before the engine will start. Then the radiator and cooling stack will need to be installed before it can be driven.
Please feel free to ask questions.
You will be responsible for transporting the vehicle and parts from my house in Greensburg, LA to your location. Needs to be moved by August 31, 2026.
