On October 24, 2022 Ukrainian artillery delivered an aimed strike at the headquarters of the Kadyrovtsy from the elite unit “Neftepolk” located in the village of Cairo in the Kherson region. The “Neftepolk” subdivision was created with the participation of Kadyrov personally. The selection is very strict, as preference is given to Chechens who have been in hot spots.As a result of the UAF strike on the base of the Chechen regiment in the Kherson region, more than 40 fighters were killed and about two hundred were injured, Serhiy Khlan, head of the Kherson Regional Military District of Ukraine, claims. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its evening report specified that the attack was on a school in the village of Cairo, and as a result, “up to 30 people” were killed. The Chechen opposition telegram channel 1ADAT, in turn, claims that “Kadyrovtsy” from the special unit of the Chechen Russian Guard “Neftepolk” were hit and that at least a hundred people were killed.
