This 1965 Volkswagen Beetle was modified under previous ownership in the style of a German Schwimmwagen military vehicle. The non-amphibious body is finished in a camouflaged paint scheme with a green soft top, and power is provided by a 1.2L air-cooled flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 14″ wheels, a shovel and paddle, a fold-down windshield, dual mirrors, a faux propeller, a top-mounted muffler, and wood duckboards. The vehicle was part of a World War II memorabilia collection and service in anticipation of the sale consisted of cleaning the carburetor and replacing the battery and starter.

The vehicle is a replica of the German military Schwimmwagen produced between 1942 and 1944. The unitized steel tub is finished in a camouflage paint scheme, and equipment includes a folding green fabric top, dual headlights with canvas covers, a shovel and paddle, a fold-down windshield, a driver’s mirror, a faux propeller, and a top-mounted muffler. Various stone chips and flaws are noted around the body, and a tear is noted in the passenger side of the soft top.

Camouflaged 14″ five-lug wheels are wrapped in 205/70 Hankook Winter I*Pike tires. A spare is mounted to the forward bodywork. Modified tension bars have been installed, and braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

The cabin is equipped with two fixed-back seats with steel frames and green vinyl covers as well as removable wood duckboard floor panels.

A replacement smooth-rimmed steering wheel has been fitted along with a 40-mph speedometer. Approximately 450 miles are shown on the odometer, though the total mileage is unknown.

The 1.2-liter flat-four is topped with a single carburetor that was recently cleaned. The battery and starter were also recently replaced.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle.
